Oral Surgery
Oral Surgery Available in Brantford
During your regular checkup, your dentist may discover that you need to have your wisdom teeth removed. You can have this oral surgery completed at our Brantford office, with the option to have IV sedation (sleep dentistry) for the surgery. You may be referred to an oral surgeon if you are at risk for complications. If you have any infections, surgery will usually be delayed until the infection has cleared up, and you may need to take antibiotics to facilitate healing.
Our dedicated team, which includes two RN’s present for your appointment, will keep you safe and comfortable during your appointment.
Surgical Preparation
We will provide you with a complete list of instructions for both pre-op and post-op and ensure you are well prepared for your appointment. We are here to answer any questions or concerns you may have. You will be provided with the Doctors cellular number after your surgery appointment, so you may contact him with any question or concern you may have.
Post-Operative Care
After the tooth is removed, you may need stitches. Some stitches dissolve over time and some have to be removed after a few days. Your dentist will tell you whether your stitches need to be removed. A folded cotton gauze pad placed over the wound will help stop the bleeding. You will need to keep the site clean. We will provide you with sterile gauze and a syringe to aid you in your healing process.
Whether completely impacted or not, our team is ready to perform your wisdom teeth removal(s). Contact Portway Dentistry to discuss your oral surgery options.
